what was this unit about?
This unit was obviously focused on Blood and Lymph, but instead of just learning a bunch of vocab, we were able to put what we were learning on display, making giant posters all about blood!
what did i like about this unit?
I liked that instead of just learning vocabulary, we had a relatively fun, interactive assignment. We researched each type of blood cell that is found in the human body, and printed out definitions with pictures. After cutting them out, we made a giant poster of a test tube, then glued down our research based on how the blood would settle if set out for 48 hours!
how did this unit change me?
Before our Blood unit, I never put much thought into what was spurting out of my body whenever it was punctured. After this unit, blood began to fascinate me! The way it scabs over, and how that's proof that you have the exactly correct amount of clotting cells and agents to allow you to not bleed out for long. It's something that most people take for granted, but after learning about it, I realized how many things can go wrong with the blood in my body, and how lucky I am that I'm not a chronic bleeder!
what would i have done differently?
If I would have done this project over, I would not have let anyone copy off of me! One of my friends didn't do their research, so I let them copy, and when my teacher noticed, we both received a zero out of one hundred on our assignment! I would not do that again!
