What was this unit about?
This unit was all about lab work, and how to take vital signs of patients! Things like blood pressure, height, weight, pulse, and respiration count.
what did i like about it?
I liked that we were in the lab and taking each others vital signs. We went into the lab in groups of four or six, and half of the group were the 'nurses' and the other half were the 'patients'. After taking everyone's resting vital signs, we made them run a few flights of stairs, and took them again, noting the increase in all vitals that were taken other than weight and height.
how did it change me?
After completing this unit, I've learned what (and how) my nurse should be doing at every check up, and if he misses anything, I can point it out. It's always kind of fun when you've learned what are the correct practices for clinics, so when you're in the office as a patient, you can call out whoever misses something.
what would i have done differently?
If I were to do this lab again, I don't think there's anything I would do differently. I payed a lot of attention when lectures were given, and I was spot on accurate in my assessments.
