my groups workout video:
what was this unit about?
So, basically, after the whole class learned the muscle/joint vocabulary, in order to better understand what we were learning, we had to apply it to a workout video.
why did i like it?
My group chose to do a Zumba video, with fun, catchy songs. It was fun to create, because we had a couple of kids from the Digital Media and Design help us with it. I reserved the Crunch room for a couple of hours, Austin and Logan brought their camera's, lights, and everything else imaginable to the gym, and we shot for three hours straight. After everyone was done making their video, for a week straight we didn't have to wear scrubs (we wore workout clothes) and in class, we did each others work out videos!
how did it change me?
This video was one of the first things we did in class, where --depending on what kind of a video you chose to make, mine being a Zumba video-- you had to let loose, and knowing that it was going to be shown in front of the whole class, and you had to lead them through it, you couldn't care what you looked like! You seriously had to not care at all what people were going to think, and just have fun with it!
what would i do differently?
After watching the video back, I can see that my whole group wasn't very confident in our dance moves, and spent most of the time staring at the prompter. If I did this a second time, I would make sure that prior to filming, everyone knew the dance moves, and could practically do them in their sleep.
